Grounded in the Wild is a five-day retreat set along Idaho’s Salmon River, surrounded by the vast beauty of the Sawtooth Mountains. This experience invites you to return to what feels real and nourishing through a blend of yoga, mindful reflection, outdoor adventure, and the grounding presence of horses.
Each day balances movement and stillness, connection and solitude, adventure and rest. Anchored in evidence-based wellness practices, this retreat offers deep renewal — the kind only wild places can provide.

I’m Pam, and nature, adventure, animals, and yoga are at the heart of who I am. You’ll often find me camping with my family, paddleboarding, spending time at the barn with horses, or practicing yoga.
After retiring from a 30-year career as an environmental educator, I am very grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to lead groups, continue learning, and explore new places. Guiding groups along Lake Superior also has been a true joy, and safety and connection are at the core of everything I do—I’m a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and a yoga teacher.
Horses have recently become a treasured part of my life, helping me grow in awareness and understanding. I feel deep gratitude for their quiet beauty and enjoy learning all they have to offer.
I love sharing these passions with others through retreats and guided adventures, creating spaces where people can connect with themselves, each other, and the natural world!

I’m an avid adventurer, husband, father, counselor-in-training, and lifelong learner who thrives on leading transformative group excursions along Lake Superior and into the mountain ranges of the American West. A recently retired educator, I continue to explore what life has to offer through a renewed focus on fitness, creativity, meditation, and overall well-being. I’m currently pursuing graduate studies in counseling, deepening my ability to support others through life’s transitions with empathy and insight.
Certified as both a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and a yoga instructor, I integrate safety, mindfulness, and somatic awareness into my work. Drawing on over 35 years of experience in public and private education, along with two decades of graduate-level teaching and facilitation through the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, I bring a depth of wisdom, presence, and curiosity to every endeavor. My passion lies in creating space for others to reflect, grow, and tap into their inner potential—both in nature and in everyday life.

A lifelong enthusiasm for cooking and exercise has informed how I have practiced medicine over the last 25 years. Combining allopathic and complementary medicine, I practice wholistic/holistic primary care. My focus is using food as medicine and movement as health before prescribing medication.
I have a healthy skepticism of modern healthcare and have been willing to question dogma. I have been humbled by the many individuals who have trusted me with their care and hope to bring that humility forward in my approach to wellness.
